Vaccination is one of the most reliable ways to protect yourself against serious disease. Even so, a good number of people put it off, and the reason is often the same one: the needle.

At The County Hospital and Research Centre, Bhopal, we now offer needle-free vaccination for both children and adults. It removes the part of the visit that most people dread, without changing what the vaccine does.

What is needle-free vaccination?

Instead of a syringe, the vaccine is delivered through the skin by a device that pushes it in as a fine, high-pressure stream. There is no puncture and no needle to dispose of afterwards.

It tends to suit:

  • Children who become anxious at the sight of an injection
  • Adults with a genuine fear of needles
  • Anyone due several vaccinations in a short period

What it changes for the patient

  • Comfort. For most people the sensation is a brief pressure rather than a sharp prick, which makes a real difference to an anxious child.
  • No needle to handle. Nothing sharp is used, so there is nothing sharp to dispose of.
  • A quick procedure. The delivery itself takes moments, so the whole visit is shorter.

Not every vaccine is available in a needle-free form, and not every patient is a candidate. Our team will tell you at the counter which of your due vaccines can be given this way and which still need a conventional injection.

Getting vaccinated with us

Our vaccination service is run by our paediatricians and trained nursing staff, and every dose is recorded so you leave with your immunisation card updated.

Walk in during OPD hours or book an appointment and we will confirm which vaccines are due for you or your child. If you are vaccinating a child, our paediatrics team can review the schedule with you at the same visit.

If you are unsure whether a particular vaccine is right for you — because of a current illness, a pregnancy, an allergy or a medicine you are on — please raise it with the doctor before the dose is given. That conversation is part of the appointment, not an extra.
