What the camp was
To mark Independence Day 2025, The County Hospital and Research Centre organised a typhoid vaccination camp for the community. The vaccine was given using needle-free technology, so that children in particular could be immunised without the anxiety an injection usually brings.

- Eligibility — anyone aged two years and above
- Cost — the vaccine itself was free; a registration charge of ₹50 applied, and pre-registration was required because seats were limited
Why typhoid vaccination matters
Typhoid fever is caused by the bacterium Salmonella Typhi. It spreads through contaminated food and water, and it can cause prolonged high fever, weakness, abdominal pain and other serious complications. It is not a minor illness, and it remains common in parts of India.
Vaccination is one of the more dependable ways to protect yourself and your family against it. It also reduces how far the infection travels through a community, which is the reason camps like this one are worth running at all.
Who the typhoid vaccine is recommended for
The typhoid vaccine is generally recommended for everyone above the age of two, and particularly for people who live in or travel to areas where typhoid is common. People with weaker immunity, young children and frequent travellers carry more of the risk.
