Privacy policy

It covers the information you choose to send us through this website. In practice there is exactly one place on the site where you can send us anything: the appointment form at /appointment. The rest of the site is pages you read.

It does not cover what happens once you are a patient of the hospital — registration, consultation notes, investigations, admission records and billing all sit under the hospital's clinical records policy, not this one.

It also does not cover WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or Google Maps. If you message us on WhatsApp or click through to a social channel, that company's own privacy policy applies to what it collects.

Only what the appointment form asks for. That is:

• Patient's full name — required, so we know whose appointment we are making.
• Mobile number — required. This is how we ring you back to confirm the slot.
• Email address — optional. Leave it blank if you would rather we did not have it.
• Department — required, and a named consultant if you have a preference.
• Health check-up package — only if you arrived from the packages page and picked one.
• Preferred date and time of day — morning, afternoon or evening.
• Reason for the visit — optional free text. It helps reception place you with the right consultant. Please write only as much as you are comfortable writing.

That is the entire list. The website does not ask for and does not want your address, your date of birth, your Aadhaar or any other identity number, your insurance details or your payment details. Nothing on this site takes a payment.

We do not build a profile of you, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not buy information about you from anyone else.

To contact you about the appointment you asked for, and for nothing else. Specifically: to ring you back and confirm a slot, to tell you if the consultant you asked for is unavailable and offer an alternative, to let you know if the appointment has to be moved, and to have your name and department ready at the front desk when you arrive.

Submitting the form is your consent for us to use your details that way. You can withdraw it at any time — see asking us to delete it below.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, share it with advertisers, pass it to data brokers, or use it to market anything to you. You will not be added to a mailing list because you booked an appointment.

When you submit the form, your details are sent over an encrypted connection to the hospital's own booking service and stored there. From there they are seen by the hospital staff who need to see them: the appointments desk, reception, and the department you asked for.

The service runs on infrastructure operated by our hosting and database providers, who store the data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Beyond that, we disclose your details to no one — unless we are required to by law, by a court, or by a lawful order from a public authority.

An appointment request is kept for as long as it is useful for the visit it relates to and for the hospital's ordinary administrative follow-up afterwards — for example, so that a repeat caller does not have to give the same details twice, and so we can reconcile who was expected against who attended.

If you become a patient, your clinical record is a separate thing with its own, longer retention requirement set by law and by the hospital's records policy. Deleting a website appointment request does not delete a medical record, and cannot.

If you would like your request removed sooner than we would otherwise remove it, ask us and we will.

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you rights over personal data held about you. In general terms, and as the Act and its rules are brought into force, those include:

• the right to ask what we hold about you and how it has been used;
• the right to have anything inaccurate corrected or anything incomplete completed;
• the right to have it erased where we no longer need it and no law requires us to keep it;
• the right to withdraw your consent, as easily as you gave it;
• the right to nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to;
• the right to complain — to us first, and to the Data Protection Board if we do not put it right.

To exercise any of these, write to countyhospitalbhopal@gmail.com. We will acknowledge you and deal with it as quickly as we reasonably can. There is no charge.

This is a general summary offered in good faith, not a statement of your precise statutory entitlements. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Act or any other law.

Email countyhospitalbhopal@gmail.com with "Delete my details" in the subject line, and tell us the name and mobile number you used on the form so we can find the right record. You can also ring the hospital and ask the appointments desk to pass the request on.

We will confirm once it is done. Two honest caveats. First, if you have already been treated at the hospital, your clinical record is not covered by this and cannot be deleted on request. Second, if we have to keep something to meet a legal or regulatory obligation, we will tell you what and why rather than quietly keeping it.

This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no visitor tracking. We do not know who you are when you read these pages, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

The typefaces are served from this site rather than fetched from a font provider, so reading the site does not tell anyone else that you visited.

There is one third-party element on the whole site: the embedded Google Map on the contact page. That map is loaded from Google, and loading it lets Google see your IP address and may let it set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy rather than ours. If you would rather not load it, use the "Open in Google Maps" link instead, or simply do not scroll to it.

Links to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube take you off this site. What those services collect is between you and them.

Like any web server, our host keeps ordinary technical logs of requests — IP address, time, page requested — for security and for diagnosing faults. These are not used to identify or profile visitors.

The site is served over HTTPS, and the appointment form is sent to the booking service over an encrypted connection. Access to submitted requests is restricted to hospital staff who need it.

No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say so than promise otherwise. If you believe something on this website is insecure, or that information has been exposed, please tell us at countyhospitalbhopal@gmail.com — we would much rather hear it from you.

Please do not send diagnostic reports, scans or detailed medical history through the website form. Bring them with you, or hand them to the department directly.

We treat paediatric and neonatal patients, so appointment requests for children are entirely normal. The form should be filled in by a parent or guardian, using the child's name and the adult's mobile number.

We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child, and we do not use children's details for anything beyond arranging the appointment. No behavioural advertising or tracking of any kind is carried out on this site, for anyone.

Everything written on this website — department pages, doctor profiles, health packages, the health library and the frequently asked questions — is general information about the services this hospital offers. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for a consultation. Do not start, stop or change any treatment on the strength of something you read here.

Submitting the appointment form does not create a doctor-patient relationship, and nothing you write in the "reason for visit" box will be read as a clinical history. It is a routing note for reception.

This website is not for emergencies. Do not use the form, email or WhatsApp if someone is seriously unwell. Ring the casualty line or come straight to the emergency entrance — it is staffed 24 hours a day, every day.

If the website starts collecting something new, this page will say so before it does, and the date below will change. There is no version history kept, so if the wording matters to you, please save a copy.
