Why it matters that everything is on one site
Emergency patients are not moved between buildings for a scan, a theatre or an intensive care bed. Pathology, digital X-ray, ultrasound, the modular operation theatres and the ICU are all in the same hospital, which is what makes a 24×7 emergency surgical team useful in practice.
